You Are Doing WHAT for WHAT?

As some of you may know, today is Ash Wednesday also known as the first day of Lent! Most people are familiar with this time of year b/c of Fat Tuesday Celebrations and Fish Frys at Catholic Churches on Fridays. For me, it has a much deeper meaning...

Here in the South, Catholics are few and far between. Our town has ONE Catholic Church among the many Baptist, Church of Christ, Methodist, Non-Denominational, and so on. I am so blessed b/c I have been raised in the same church my entire 26 years...Baptized, First Communion, Confirmation, Married, and our first born Baptized at St. Rose of Lima. While my walk with Lord has had it's fair share of ups and downs, good times and bad, I am at a wonderful point in my life where I am THIRSTING to learn and grow more with Him. Perhaps it is b/c I am older, perhaps it is b/c I have a family of my own, or perhaps I am TRULY understanding His will, His power, His Glory. This is not to say that these last 26 years have meant nothing, but something is definitely different NOW!

So what am I giving up for Lent (and not that fuzzy stuff in your pocket)? I have actually decided to DO something more instead of giving something up. I could write an entire blog just on my journey and why I have chosen what I have but I will say this ~

THE PEOPLE I LOVE MOST IN MY LIFE AND THE WOMEN I HAVE MET THROUGH BLOGGING HAVE INSPIRED ME TO CLEANSE MY SOUL AND BE THE WOMAN OF GOD THAT HE WOULD WANT ME TO BE!

Til next time...

Hi Megan! I am so happy you visited my blog and left me such a sweet note! I immediately jumped right over to your blog and started reading. First, let me just say Vance is an absolute doll! Raising a boy is so much fun. The funnest part is how much they love their mommas! :) I'm adding you to my links and will be reading. I love making new friends through blogland. I have a feeling you are going to inspire me!
