When Web and I drive by Greek Row on Rutherford Boulevard sometimes we find ourselves talking about our college years...not wanting to go back to them but just reminiscing about the good times we had. Then we come to the next red light, hear our sweet boy "talking", and we are brought back to reality. A reality that I would not trade for the world!!! It is true that I work a 8:00 - 5:00 job fives days a week, I am usually tired by the time I go home, and there always seems to be something else to be done. Then again, in the world of a woman/mother/wife/friend, when is there not. I tell you these things not to complain or gain pity, but so that you might understand the next part of my blog.
I began doing these blogs a few months ago, and like most of us out there, I have become addicted. I may not post something everyday, but I definitely read my fair shair of post daily. The Smith Family is a post that I began reading because a dear friend had it on her list of blogs she reads daily, and it is very inspirational. In one of her recent posts she quotes another lady saying, "There are little eyes upon you, Mom. You are the first Bible that your children will ever read..." WOW! That quote hit me like a ton of bricks...Web and I both are Vance's first glimpse at the Bible, the life of Jesus, and we are to live as examples DAILY!
This brings me back to my first paragraph. Yes, I may be tired by the end of the work day and I might have a "million" things to take care before tomorrow, but the time we share with Vance while he is awake is the most important time of our day. Last night he woke up at 12:30 a.m., and I happily walked into his nursery, picked him up out of his crib, and rocked my baby for almost an hour. A just kept thanking God...and thanking Him...and thanking Him!
Little man and I just playing =)
