New Addition

Yesterday was magical for me! Let me give you a little background info first...

Two years ago I met one of my very best friends, Meagan Stiner, through the same gentleman who introduced my husband and I. Meagan was so sweet, so genuine, and a good friend from day one. It has been over the last year though that we have become amazingly, close friends.

It was February 4th, 2007 (Superbowl Sunday and three days from Vance's arrival), that I was at a Superbowl Party at Meagan's house. The entire gang was there including Meag's childhood friend Lauren Fletcher. IMMEDIATELY La and I hit it off and the three of us became inseparable. We began hanging out, e-mailing, and even took a girl's trip to Savannah in September.

When I first met La she told me how her and her husband David had decided to begin trying to get pregnant...they had just finished building a home and were ready for a family! I told her to relax, have fun with it, and just give it time. I still remember how excited she was when she told me...Meag, La, and I met for dinner at Puelo's Grille, and La was running late...she always did :)! When she got there I asked her how her day was, she explained she was tired and a little under the weather. "ARE YOU PREGNANT?" were the first words out of my mouth. With the biggest grin on her face she said YES!

During her pregnancy, Meag and I stayed up many a nights have in depth conversations about being pregnant, having a baby, labor, delivery, and life in general. We truly were there every step of the way. La's due date was January 6th but little Dawson had other plans in mind. While the gang waited anxiously by the phone for two days, we received the text yesterday morning at 5:00 A.M. Lauren was at the hospital and Dawson was going to arrive sometime today! I jumped out of bed, called Meag, and got ready to head to StoneCrest in Smyrna. (I had Vance there and it was a wonderful experience...highly reccommend it!)

Meag and I spent the day at the hospital with Lauren! We wanted to be with her on the day that her and David had been dreaming of. I arrived at 8:00, and at 1:30 it was "go time!" As David and Ms. Karen got ready to help Lauren push, Meag and I got ready to go to the waiting room. However, Lauren stopped us and asked us to stay with her during the delivery. I have NEVER been so touched in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meag and I sat there, cracked jokes to make La laugh, and witnessed the miracle of a new life being born. It was moving, beautiful, and something I will always cherish. It was truly amazing to be on the other side when I had delivered just a year earlier...definitely gives me baby fever.

I am happy and proud to say that Lauren gave birth to a healthy, baby boy on January 9, 2008. His name is Dawson Nathaniel, he has blue eyes, he weighed 8lb 14oz and was 22 inches long, and he is perfect. Please keep the new parents and little one in your prayers!

Another addition to our little circle of friends...
