Once Upon A Time...

My dear friend and blogger Leigh Ann asked my galz and I if we would post about how met each other and became "us!" We all thought it was a wonderful idea!!! So, here is my perspective on meeting my two best friends...


You might think it is weird that I started this post with a picture of Web and his best friend Chris, but THIS is where it all began. I met Web & Chris at the same time during Christmas of 2002. While Chris and I remained friends, I did not see Web again until Christmas of 2003. Over that year Chris highly encouraged Web and I that we should date, but I think God was preparing our hearts. To make a long story short (I promise I am leading to my galz), Web and I began dating December of 2003, were engaged in 2004, and married in 2005!!!


Meagan

During our "courtship" I kept hearing about a particular girl named Meagan! I knew right off the bat she had to be pretty awesome if we shared the same name =)! Web would attend Poker Night or POETS CLUB after school, and Meagan was often there. It seemed like it took months for us to meet, but we finally did.

I was hosting a spa night at my house and Web went out with "the gang!" I knew he was going to enjoy himself a little, but I asked him to ask Meagan to watch after him until I was there. The spa night ended and I called Web to see how things were going. He handed the phone to Meagan, I thanked her for taking care of my husband, and she asked if I was coming to Liquid Smoke. I DID! That was in January of 2006 and over the next year we would see each other at game nights, poker nights, grill & chills, etc. I even invited her to one of my baby showers in October of 2006.

Meag is the type of person/friend that we should ALL strive to be!!! She is loyal like none other, honest and wholesome to the core, firm in her beliefs, witty at just the right moment, a fabulous cook, well rounded, and listens to hear what you are really saying! She is the friend you can turn to when it seems like everyone else has turned their back on you!

Lauren

I met Lauren on Superbowl Sunday 2007!!! I was literally three days away from delivering Vance and the gang was celebrating Meag's Birthday while watching the big game! Lauren came into Meag's house carrying all of the ingredients for Rotel Dip oh and did I mention, she was beautiful as always. Meag introduced us and we immediately hit it off talking about people we knew and connections we had. It was just as she said, like I had always known her. I remember thinking that night while we were playing Scattegories that she was so smart, so put together, so professional, and funny as all get out! From that night on, the three of us have been inseparable!!!!

La is the type of person/friend that you HOPE to have in your life!!! She is funnier than any person I know, extremely organized, blunt when you need to hear it, encouraging in a way that makes you want to take on the world, talented in so many areas, kind-hearted, and wise beyond her years. She is the friend you want to have on your side when life has thrown you a curve ball!

I could go on and on and on about how wonderful these women are, how blessed I consider myself to be to have TWO BEST FRIENDS, and how much they bring goodness to my life.

I will say this...
If these last two years have been this amazing and fun, all I can say is, "Watch out world! There is more to come!!!"
