It is FINALLY FRIDAY and I am definitely ready for the weekend. We have big plans to spend a lot of quality time with my family. Sometimes it is so nice to spend time with my parents and grandparents...it is just good for the sole =)!
Last night we had a Home Dedication for our newest homeowner. This house is the 76th house we have built in Rutherford County and we are trying to build 100 by 2010. I have been to almost 20 dedications, and each one is just as touching as the one before. The lady who received the home last night is a single mother with two children. The little girl is 5 and is obsessed with roses...
A sweet garden club in town donated some flowers, shrubs, trees, and planted them before the dedication. Right in the center of the front yard is a rose bush. The little girl was beyond excited yesterday to finally have a home of their own. However, when I showed her the rose bush, her face lit up with such happiness. She looked at me with her innocent eyes and whispered, "Is that rose bush just for me?" It felt so good to tell her that it was!
This is why I love what I do! I get to give "rose bushes" and dreams to families!!!!
After I picked up Vance last night, we headed to my parents for dinner. It was delicious! What was even better was watching Vance eat his popsicle, blow bubbles, and play with magnets...

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen!!!! :) That story about the little girl got me all teary-eyed. What a rewarding job you have!
Thank you for stopping by my blog! :) I love meeting new people. That is such a great story about the little girl! How wonderful that must be to bring such joy to others. :) You little red curly haired little boy is too cute.. but then again I am definitely partial! :) Ethan was almost three before we cut his hair and at that point it was out of control! :) Isn't it great being a mommy and learning to be so thankful and so selfless in everything you do! :) I have learned far more in my six years as mommy than the 30 years prior. LOVE IT! Have a great weekend!
What a sweet post! That just blesses my heart to hear about the little girl and her rose bush...bless her!
Vance is precious! Treasure every moment with him!
