I LOVE long weekends and this one was a BLAST!
Web, Vance, and I left around lunch time to head up to Gatlinburg for the Memorial Day Weekend =)! My father in law and step mother in law made reservations at Bear Bottom Lodge ~ a nice cabin tucked away in the mountains that slept 26! There were only 18 of us so we all had our own "area!" As much as I love family, it is nice to be able to retreat away at night!!!
Friday night we all hung around the cabin, ate some bbq, listedned to my step brother in law play a little blue grass, and caught up.
Saturday Web went golfing with his dad and two step brothers. I decided to lather Vance up with sunscreen and go to Dollywood with my brother in law, his wife, and two kids. I was not sure how the day was going to go with the crowded park and scorching heat, but Vance did GREAT! He even rode a few rides...I was so proud!Saturday night we ALL ate dinner at a little restaurant tucked away in the woods...those are usually the best!
Sunday we ALL had a big breakfast followed by a scavenger hunt for the kids! It was a GREAT way to teach a little science and have fun. Vance's team won!!! Web and I decided to take Vance to the Gatlinburg Aquarium and then head on home...he LOVED the Aquarium!!!!! He got so excited looking at the sting rays that people could hear him across the room. Web and I just laughed! After looking at the fishies we hoped in the car and headed home. It took a little longer than we hoped but we made it!
All day yesterday we did laundry and began packing to move to our apartment...whew...is all I can say. We have all been sleeping good the past two nights!!!!!

Love the pictures! I just love Gatlinburg. I could spend all day shopping in The Village shops and Dollywood... my kids LOVE IT. Glad you had such a great weekend and Vance looks like he enjoyed himself to the max. Thanks for sharing.

I've heard the Aquarium in Gatlinburg is so nice. My son would love that-he ADORES anything to do with animals. I've never been to Gatlinburg! I think it's quite a trek from central AR. We are close to Branson and I think they are similar (with Gatlinburg being prettier scenery). Branson is only 3 hours away and we usually go at least once a year. Sounds like you guys had a great time. I've never been on a family retreat with that many people. :)

We have never been. I can tell you if we do ever make it to TN, I'm coming to see Megan and Vance first before I go anywhere else! Ha!
