"I love you to the end of the world and back"

and back again...

I have noticed on some of my favorite blogs that many of you have told your story of meeting your True Love. On this cold, rainy March day (hmmm...what happened to Spring), that I would share my story.

Web and I first met in December of 2002! I was working at a local jewelry store in town known as The Gold Rush, and Christmas was of course a busy time. We were getting close to closing time and in walked Web and Chris (the man our son is named after). Chris was on a mission to find something special for his wife, and Web was searching for a little something for his girlfriend. I ended up waiting on them for a good hour as Chris wanted to find the perfect gift, and Web settled on a sweet, sterling bracelet. I did not once think that something would ever arise from that first meeting. I had just gotten out of a three year relationship and was in the middle of enjoying college. LOVE was the LAST thing on my mind.

After Christmas, I did not see or hear from Web for an entire year. Chris came in every few months to buy something for his wife and check up on me. Before he left, he always made it a point to mention Web. "You two would be perfect for one another! You really should meet!" Honestly, I was scared too death of dating let alone the possibility of falling in love. Christmas came again and I was a new person; a little more mature, a little more grounded, and ready to take on the world. And then it happened...

It was a Christmas evening again and in walked Chris and then Web, and it was over. Web had on an Eagleville hoodie and hat (he taught there) and jeans. He had the kindest smile, the warmest eyes, and in that instant I FELL IN LOVE! I waited on them for awhile (mostly so I could just talk to and stare at Web), and encouraged them to go to Chili's. My friend and I went there after work just so I could stare at him from afar =)! Before we closed the store that night, I did something a little gutsy, I looked up his number in our customer data base. I know, southern women never make the first move, but I COULD not let him get away. After dinner I called Web, no answer, so I left him a message. He and Chris were going to Nashville the following day to Opry Mills, and I MADE UP a story about needing a price of a range finder for my dad that was at Bass Pro. Whatever it takes...right? He never called me back, but they did come in the store again the next day! He was dressed a little nicer this time; khakis and a button down and oh his blue eyes...he is YUMMY! They did go to Bass Pro, he did check on the price, and I thought something might happen from there...NOTHING! Later that night, after dropping off a few friends, I decided to call him and say THANK YOU!

I called him sometime around 10:00 or so and we hung up as the sun was rising! (I later found out that he did a little dance in his living room when I called)! We talked about everything under the sun and I think we both knew at that moment, this was it. By the end of the conversating, Web had asked me out on a date, and I happily said yes. I was still scared of love but not of him! Our first date was December 23, 2003; we were engaged July 27, 2004, married Nobember 19, 2005, and gave birth to Vance on February 7, 2007. Our marriage is a blessing that we hold so sacred to our hearts...we may not always be perfect but we are perfect for each other.

Sorry for the long post, but sometimes you need to look back to truly grasp how blessed you are.

Web and I right after we saw each other...can you tell I was excited?!

Just telling my hubby how much I love him!

Have a GREAT weekend everyone! We are supposed to get 5 inches of snow...what?

Not too close...I reread your post again. Y'all married almost 2 years after y'all met, not 1 like me. At least our months were almost the same; seasons were the same for sure!!!!!!!
