Web and I LOVE Christmas movies!! Every year my parents give us a new Christmas move...a tradition that I thoroughly enjoy. It seems as though Vance loves them too :)! We have only showed him Polar Express & The Classics. So far his favorite is "Red Nose" OR Rudolph as we all know him. When he says "abominal snowman" it is the cutest thing ever.
Just one more reason I love this time of year!
This weekend was a lot of fun and very productive...my two favorite things!
Saturday morning we got up early to head to The Discovery Center's Open House. Admission was free so it was a wee bit crowded. Vance loves it there and Jack even played a little.
Jack and I in the little baby room. It is padded and has all sorts of neat areas for the babies to crawl. Since Jack is not crawling yet we played with the sensory sticks. Is he not precious? We go for his 6 month check-up on Thursday and I am very interested to see how much he weighs. We have a big boy on our hands :)!
While Jack and I were in the baby room, Web took Vance to see Smokey the Bear & Woodsy the Owl. He did great!!! He gave them a high five and a hug. Hopefully this bodes well if we take the boys to Disney someday :).
The rest of the day we spent having lunch with my parents, Christmas shopping, and looking at Christmas lights. The boys were wiped out on Saturday night...and so were we :)!
Sunday I had a "to-do" list that was a mile long and I just about got everything done. One of the things I really wanted to do was make spiced ornaments for Vance to give to a few special people. I got the idea/recipe from a blog and thought it would be easy and fun for us to do.
Well...it was fun BUT it was messy and little tougher than I thought...LOL! Web and Vance rolling out the dough! The recipe calls that you mix the ingredients with your hands. Of course I loved this b/c we are all about "getting your hands dirty" when it comes to creating. At one point Vance said, "This is like chocolate mud!" Should of gotten a pic, but we were all mixing it together.
I am a girl who loves the end result, but for kiddos it is all about the process. To me, that is what makes a childhood that much more magical.
We have a lot of great activities to look forward to this week! Tomorrow night is the boy's Christmas Program for school and those are always fun :)!
