I am so sorry that I have not posted in a while!
Last week was very busy with work and it was hard finding the extra time. However, it was a great week ;). Every March we host a group of college students from Northern Illinois University. They spend their entire Spring Break working on a Habitat home. During their days they would build and at night various groups hosted them for dinner.
Here is the entire group plus the Habitat staff at the St. Rose Fish Fry :)! They are such a GREAT group of kids!!!
Friday I used one of my vacation days and spent the entire day with my mom! We went to Michael's, painted pottery, had lunch, got pedicures, did a little shopping for the boys, and just enjoyed one another's company. It was so nice having an entire day devoted to us. My mom is also getting high speed internet soon so I am going to try to convince her to join the blogging world.
This is a picture of the adorable frame my mom painted. Of course it is in John Deere colors for my little farmer to be ;)!
Saturday we spent most of the day at home playing, cleaning, baking cookies, and enjoying some family time. I love the weekends b/c it is a time when I get to love on Vance and just enjoy his sweet personality. Here lately he has really shown signs of understanding empathy. Web stubbed his toe and Vance immediately said, "Okay daddy?" I pray everyday he will have a caring heart!!!
Saturday night my parents came over while Web and I went to Luck of the Boro. It is a fundraiser put on by the Junior League and it was a lot of fun. We met Meagan, Chris, and a few others there for a night of food, drinks, a live auction, and dancing. I can't believe I am going to share this but I almost fell on my butt while dancing. Word to the wise...you can't exactly dance like you did in college when you are almost seven months pregnant. Did I break it down? YES! Did I break it down like my once 21 year old self? NO! The night was still wonderful and full of lots of laughter ;)!
My handsome husband and I! I was so happy the band played at least one slow song so we could dance belly to belly :)!
Meag and I ;)! I am so happy she was there to hit the dance floor with.
Sunday we made it to church and then spent the rest of the day getting ready for the evening. We invited my parents, grandparents, and brothers over for dinner. I made poppyseed chicken, rice, peas, rolls, and my mom brought dessert. It was so nice having everyone around our table!!! While they were there we of course broke out the finger paints...
...good times! As you can see Vance has painted himself, my mother, and I had some paint on me too. It is one more reason I adore my parents...they just jump right in. My mom says that she will save tons of money on therapy by indulging in finger paint sessions. LOL! I am not sure if you can see it but my mom is wearing a pink bracelet with a peace sign on it. I have a matching one in brown ;)!
I promise to be better this week and I hope your weeks are fantastic! Spring is just around the corner ;)!
