My Boys Love The BOO!

I can remember as a kid all of the wonderful, neat things my parents did to make each holiday special. It just so happens that my mom's favorite holiday is Halloween. NOT b/c of all the "dark" things related to the day, but b/c of all the decorations, kids in costumes, and fun things you can do.

Now that I have kids of my own, I can understand why she loves it so much. Jack is a little too young to understand what is going on, but Vance LOVED Trick or Treating!!! We practiced here and there leading up to the week so he would know what to say. Of course we also taught him to say "thank you!" I was shocked by how many kiddos just ran off after getting their candy.

Our first adventure was at a Trunk or Treating that the boys' day care put on. It was held at a local park and they had delicious food and of course good trunk or treating for the kiddos.

Vance's first costume was a CHEF :)! Our boy loves to pretend to cook and help in the kitchen, so we knew this was a must. Believe it or not, but we made this costume with things we had at home. The hat and necklace did not stay on long, but I still got a cute pic :)!

Jack was a little giraffe and an adorable one at that! He was so good throughout the night and just took everything in :).

On Halloween night we dressed up as one of Vance's favorite things...pirates! Again, his costume was homemade and he looked so cute. We got Jack's costume at Peeble's and he wore it like a champ!
Lauren was kind enough to let us park at her house and "use" her amazing neighborhood to trick or treat in. That is one thing that is hard to do out in the sticks...lol. THANKS LAUREN!

Web nabbed a picture of Vance and his first official trick or treat :). These people are actually some of our family, otherwise he would not have just reached his hand in...LOL!
We stayed for about an hour and I am telling you Vance was on cloud nine! After a while he would ask to do it by "himself" while we stood at the bottom step. He is such a BIG boy and he is such a sweetheart :)!

And here is our littlest mate! He was as happy and warm as a clam ;). Without a doubt...he has the sweetest smile!!!
All of that trick or treating made Vance hungry. We stopped at Sonic afterwards where he proceeded to eat golf fish crackers, hot dog, french fries, and fruit snacks. He is an eater!!!

WE ARE ALREADY LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR AND ALL OF THE BOO EXCITEMENT!!!
