A little catching up...

So today was the first day back in the "real world!" Like many of you I have absolutely enjoyed my time off with my family, but it feels good to start a new year.

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and one of the things I needed for 2009 was a calendar for my office. I decided to go with the Purpose Driven Life one and I am really excited to look up each month and read a quote to live by ;). January's quote reads, "God designed EACH OF US so there would be no duplication in the world. No one has the exact same mix of factors that make you unique. That means no one else on earth will ever be able to play the role God planned for you!" I LOVE THAT!

In other news...

New Year's Eve was spent at home enjoying our favorite meal and going to bed early. We wanted to see the ball drop but our eyelids could not make it ;). New Year's Day went to my MIL for a traditional New Year's meal and that night I had dinner with my galz. Who would not want to start the year off with a great meal with their best friends?!

On Friday, Web and I did a couple of "firsts" with Vance ;)!

Nana Jo & Papa got Vance some play-doh or doh doh as he calls it for Christmas. We got it out on Friday morning and Vance LOVED it. He liked pushing his finger down in it and putting his letters in it. I enjoyed playing with play-doh when I was little and hopefully he will enjoy it too ;)!

We also took Vance to his first movie ;)! We took him to see the Tale of Desperaux and I am happy to say that he looked like this most of the movie...

We were so proud and so impressed ;)!!!

Saturday and Sunday we did some odds and ends around the house and Saturday night Web and I went to the OFMGA Golf Banquet. Web received an award and we got to spend some quality time with some great people. Aunt Meag was kind enough to watch Vance for a little while and from the pics she took it looks like they had a GREAT time. Thanks again!!!

Speaking of Meag, she has decided to start a Book Club, and I am so excited!!! We meet tomorrow night for the first time ;). I can't wait to start reading more. The book club is really something I want to be committed to, so I am weeding out a few other once a month activities. That is what the New Year is all about ;).

It feels good to be back and I am so excited to embrace 2009!

Isn't it SO fun going to their first movie! That one looks so cute and I love the pic of Web and Vance. He is watching so intently.

I'm so jealous of your New Year's galz dinner. I know you had a fabulous time and I with you...who better to start off the new year with!

A book club sounds so fun. Meag is so great in so many ways (including a babysitter). How lucky are you?!

Looking SO forward to April! Yeah!

It looks like Vance did such a great job at the movies!!!

I cannot wait to hear about your book club and the books you read. We have a book club at our church and I love it. It is such a neat way to bond with other ladies.

We took Adeline to see that too. I don't remember what day. She LOVED it! It was her first movie, too!
